Funerals
A service at the church, crematorium or graveside can be a significantly helpful and precious event in remembering and celebrating a loved one's life, and releasing them into God's hands.
Our priest, Sera, is deeply committed to funeral ministry, and is available to be help with a range of different services. It's important you choose the service that fits with you, and your funeral director can help you decide which one that is.
Different Services
Here are examples of the different types of services that are possible, and that Sera, can lead for you,
- A funeral in the church followed by a commital at the crematorium
- A funeral in the church followerd by a burial in a local cemetery
- A service at the crematorium
- A memorial service in the church, held some time after a cremation or burial
- The burial of ashes in a local cemetry or our own Garden of Remembrance
Pre-funeral Visit
For each service, Sera, our priest, will spend time with you beforehand to listen and learn about the life of your loved one, and to plan with you a service that honours the life and wishes of your loved one. These conversations and visits often take one or two hours, and 2 or 3 other close family are welcome to come along to be part of those conversations.
Talk to your funeral director or contact the Church Office if you would like us to help you with a funeral service.
