Toddler and Baby Group with Carers Risk Assessment- an example
The Risk Assessment below is based on an under-fives 'music and story' group, where Under-fives are constantly accompanied by their carers.
The carers are responsible for their children throughout the group (they sometimes need subtly reminding of this) but the activity leaders still need to take responsibility for reducing risk.

Some of the key things to keep in mind:
- Are the toys/ musical instruments/ books safe to be used by babies?
- Are there risks in the room where the group is held that you might not notice as they are on the periphery of your attention?
- How are drinks being transported and stored?
- How might the whole thing be experienced by a fidgety, inquisitive 2 year old?
The example Risk Assessment is available here.
