Kids Group with Leaders Risk Assessment- an example
Here's an example of a Risk Assessment for a group for a mixed age of kids under 12 years old. This can be adapted for a Sunday School, Kids' Clubs and other situations where leaders are responsible for children. It is absolutely vital that you think about your own context, this risk assessment is just a springboard.
It is also vital that ALL leaders who are interacting with children are DBS checked and undergo Safeguarding Training. Find out from your national or regional organisation how to get the checks and training done. It is NOT optional.

Some things to consider when writing a risk assessment for a kids' group in your own context include:
- Are there particular risks linked with the activities you plan to do e.g. sport-related or food-related?
- What impact does the age-range of the kids involved have e.g. what are leader to child ratios?
- What are less obvious but possible scenarios that might occur, for example a child needing to go to the toilet, or a new child turning up to join?
