Drumbeats Resources You Can Use: songs, books and full session plans
Drumbeats Resources for you to use: List of books and their songs
Below you'll find a list of the books we use at Drumbeats and the songs we sing for the different pages. There's also a link for a full session plan for each book, you can download the word document version and edit for your usage.
Four quick comments before we start:
- •You’ll see below a few examples of me applying the 'use a familiar tune and change the words’ principle in action. (See this blog on the 6 principles that make Drumbeats great) I’ve put a note in brackets about the familiar tune we use.
- •Use actions for some of the songs, but keep them simple .For other songs they can shake eggs or drum. Don’t feel any pressure to baby-signing. Parents do it if they want to.
- •Invite different kids to lift the flaps of the books on each page and before you sing. Go to where they are sitting.
- Stick with one book for half a term, as the repetition helps the kids feel safe
