Life in the Time of Coronavirus: Louise Diamond
Louise Diamond is working as a nurse at the hospital during this difficult time, so for our new series of "Life in the Time of Coronavirus" we've asked to share a little about her work. These are some of things she has been asking for God to help her with, in her daily life (so do join in praying for her and others she's with):
"Friends and family who are vulnerable and fearful.
My patients who are anxious, despairing and angry at this unwelcome intrusion into their lives and the plans for their futures. My cancer patients who have had surgery postponed, sometimes meaning curative treatment is not possible.
How to counsel our patients on the telephone rather than face to face, to run clinics without being able to examine patients and to support each other.
The impact of the coronavirus in the hospital.
Shortage of vital staff members in theatres, A&E, the wards and diagnostic teams.
Finding ways to share God’s love with others when they are afraid of what tomorrow will bring.
Thankful that each day I see examples of neighbours caring for each other, reminding me that God is present in the lives of those around me.
There is much to pray for, from the tragic events unfolding in the refugee camps and in numerous countries around the world who lack basic health care, to our local community."
Finally, Louise wanted to leave us with a reminder that's been a comfort to her:
"Psalm 46:1 God is our refuge and strength, an ever present help in trouble."
