Committing to Pray for Local Kid and Youth
Our Local Kids and Young People
I wonder how you feel about our local kids and young people, the challenges they face and they opportunities they have. Is there a mix of worry & delight, concern & hope? I wonder if you ask yourself how you can help or support them.
Practical Action and Prayer
Throughout the Bible we see a pattern where practical action and prayer are woven together in tackling challenging situations. Nehemiah's efforts to rebuild the walls of Jerusalem in the face of opposition is a great example of this (check out Nehemiah 4, here).
Around our community and city, there are amazing individuals and organisations are doing practical things and/or prayerful things to help our local kids and young people flourish. And if you're one of them, thank you.
Maybe you're still wondering what you can do to offer help and support.
Committing to Pray: 1 Day, Every Week, For the Rest of the School Year.
Maybe you could commit to praying one day a week for our local kids and young people.
A few of us from different local churches are connecting together to make sure that on every day of the rest of this school year, someone is praying for our local kids and young people. We've got someone praying every Monday, someone else Tuesday etc. 7 days a week.
It doesn't need to be just one person praying. Maybe you could add your prayers. One day a week. Driving to work, walking to school, brushing your teeth. You could pray. One Day a week, for the rest of the school year.
If you're not sure what to pray for then here's our suggestion. It's simple (and big):
- the safety of local kids and young people
- the well-being of local kids and young people
- the thriving of local kids and young people.
Let Us Know You're Praying!
It can be encouraging to know others are praying. And it can be helpful to do something as a sign of a commitment. So if you'd like to commit to praying, take two minutes to complete this form and tell us what day you're praying.
We might send you an infrequent message to encourage you or help you pray, but don't worry, you won't be getting lots of messages from us!
Written by Sera, on behalf of those praying from Vineyard, Ascension and St Denys churches.
