'Creation' at St Denys

'Creation' began life a few years ago, as a regular (but not too frequent) time and space where people could gather, spend time doing something creative but also have a bit of stillness and silence to reflect on a few words of contemplation. Having moved to a Facebook group through Lock Down, Creation is ready to relaunch in-person again and everyone is welcome.

The Story So Far...

Some people came along who were closely connected with the church, whilst others came along who were part of the local community. Some came along because they were visiting the area. 

Some people built model houses & others painted, some knitted & other crocheted, some made mosaics and others repaired items they owned. There was general intrigue with what each other were doing, and absolutely no judgement about the quality

In the middle of the evening we'd press pause, stop the chatting and creating, and listened to a few words of contemplation followed by a few minutes of sitting silently to reflect or simply focus on breathing. 

Another cuppa would be served and the chatting and creating would continue.

People seemed enjoy the friendship, the gentleness and the sparks of creativity found within Creation. We kept some of these connections going through the Facebook Group during lockdown. But now, due to requests from a variety of people, we're starting to meet again in person. 

Where do go from here...

Our starting point is to start gathering again. Every three weeks to start with (the poster below has dates):

And you just need to bring 'something creative to do' - it might be colouring pencils and paper; a knitting pattern, wool and needles, 

You might want to contribute to one of our reflections, feel free - it needs to be rooted in Christian spirituality, but access to people in different places on their journeys of faith. Chat with Sera if you'd like to contribute something.
